Yet another new TV series (Salem) that shows nothing but disrespect to the memory of those hanged for the absurd crime of witchcraft in Salem, Massachusetts.
How would people feel if someone put up a Titanic Floating Casino and Bar directly over the wreck spot? How incredibly disrespectful.
This new series is as disrespectful.

Unfortunately the entire town is the same. They’ve created an entire cottage industry out of what was, essentially, a myth. The number of witches that supposedly were in Salem at the time of the hangings were far below the number mentioned, possibly none. Politics, fear, greed for their land and a stupid gang mentality put the nail in the coffin of these poor people. Of course there are witches in Salem today. But the entire town has that disrespectful feel. Ugh.
The whole episode is likely the result of a mold. Grain molds can cause hallucintions. And yes the town is at carnival level and to me, pushes disrespect to new heights…no thanks to the likes of Laurie Cabot, etc.
Yeah I’ve also heard that ergot poisoning was likely the cause though there are some other theories as well.
Yes, their storage for grain was far less than perfect. Add to that a bunch of bored pilgrims ripe for some drama… ;)
